The Salvation Army is an international Christian organization that began its work in Canada in 1882 and has grown to become the largest non-governmental direct provider of social services in the country. The Salvation Army gives hope and support to vulnerable people today and everyday in 400 communities across Canada and more than 130 countries around the world. The Centre of Hope

The work of The Salvation Army in London, Ontario, spans over 125 years. The Centre of Hope is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and addiction. We address social problems by delivering programs that provide solutions which reinvest a person’s potential back into the fabric of our community. The facility located at 281 Wellington Street opened its doors in November 2004 and is the “gateway” of downtown, offering a multitude of spaces dedicated to promoting the wellbeing of people who are experiencing homelessness and addiction. The spacious six-storey building includes shared accommodations, private rooms, communal lounges on each floor, resource rooms with access to telephones and computers, a courtyard with a garden, private patios, boardrooms, dining and cooking areas, and private offices.

The Salvation Army Centre of Hope works with other social service agencies, hospitals, churches, and organizations across the City of London to provide well-rounded support to as many people in need as possible.
