The Salvation Army challenges YOU to help reduce hunger in London with the #ONEBAGCHALLENGE!
The One Bag Challenge, the internet’s newest viral charitable act began in Kelowna and spread to Kamloops when Canadian Home Builders Association’s Kelowna office challenged the Kamloops office. CHBA Kamloops went above and beyond spreading the initiative throughout town. And now this giving initiative is reaching Ontario with Stratford Food Banks collecting over 13 000lbs of food in one month!
We believe this is an excellent initiative for London, benefiting all Londoners who rely on our local food banks and raising awareness of hunger in Canada.
We’re kicking off the #onebagchallenge in Community and Family Services by inviting the media, community partners, friends and family to take the #onebagchallenge, by purchasing 1 bag of groceries and donating it to their local food bank. In turn, they would post their picture with the hashtag #onebagchallenge to Twitter and Facebook and they would challenge 5 people to do the same. We’re also asking that photos be sent to us to be included in a London-focused video being created by Community and Family Services for National Hunger Awareness Week, September 19 – 23.
Please send your photos to firstname.lastname@example.org by September 14th.
